MISSISSAUGA, ON – After recording both its best-ever year and best-ever January in Canada, today Nissan announced that its all-new 2015 Nissan Micra will start at just $9,998, making it the country's lowest MSRP. Nissan also debuted the new Versa Note SR model and provided a glimpse into the brand's future design potential with the all-new Nissan Sport Sedan Concept and Nissan Sentra NISMO Concept making their national debuts at the Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS) in Toronto.

"The more we work to understand the unique needs of Canadian drivers, the more successful we are," said Christian Meunier, President, Nissan Canada Inc. "Throughout our entire line-up, from our innovative commercial vehicles to our all-new Rogue right through to our new Versa Note - we are committed to delivering the right car at the right time. This spring, when Micra arrives starting at just $9,998, it will provide even more Canadians with a high-quality, affordable entry point into the Nissan brand, which we think will be a very exciting time for the market here."

Combining Japanese quality with European styling and heritage, Micra promises to provide Canadians with more fun, more attention to detail and more value than they've ever expected in a small car. With great visibility, impressive agility and excellent turning radius, Micra is designed for Canadian drivers and will offer a small and fuel efficient, yet spacious and fun choice - at a shocking price.

Making its Canadian debut today was the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept. A design study with a particular emphasis on next-generation design and sporty style, the Sport Sedan Concept was created to embody the essence of a true sports sedan – that rare execution of 4-door sedan with the aura of a real sports car. It previews a future production vehicle intended for owners with a passion for cutting-edge design and driving dynamics.

"When you commit to breaking down the boundaries of innovation, you can accomplish truly amazing things, and that is exactly what the Nissan brand has once again done with the Sport Sedan Concept and Sentra NISMO Concept," said Meunier.

Like the Sport Sedan Concept, the Sentra NISMO Concept also made its debut and is built on the solid foundation of the latest generation production Nissan Sentra, but injects increased performance and design tuner elements into the mix. Among the Sentra NISMO Concept's many departures from a production 2014 Sentra are its race-inspired exterior with enhanced aerodynamic performance, NISMO-tuned suspension, steering and transmission and engaging motorsports-style cockpit.

Rounding out today's announcement was the Nissan Versa Note SR making its first Canadian appearance, expanding the extremely popular Versa line-up and showing the next evolution in subcompact styling. Exterior enhancements include sporty front and rear fascias and grille, a unique rear spoiler and 16-inch sport aluminum wheels. Inside, an exclusive 370Z-inspired leather-wrapped steering wheel, suede-like fabric seats with orange accents and double stitching are among many upgrades adding to the look and feel of this great option. Versa Note SR will arrive as a 2015 model year later this spring.

About the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept:
Representing the essence of a true sport sedan, combining the functionality of a four-door with the aura of a real sports car, the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept previews a future production vehicle intended for owners with a passion for cutting-edge design and driving dynamics.

With any sports car, performance is critical to the driving experience. The front-wheel drive Sport Sedan Concept is powered by a 300-plus horsepower 3.5-litre V6 engine, backed by a sport-tuned Xtronic CVT® and features an innovative suspension layout with performance dampers.

The exterior is marked by low, wide proportions, with a lowered hoodline and reduced ground clearance compared to traditional sedans – elements that would be right at home in a sports car. The "V-Motion" movement of the front end flows from the dramatic chromed grille up through the hood and the front incorporates large LED boomerang headlights, a deeply scooped front fascia and a wide, sloped windshield.

The profile is equally powerful, with its dynamic bodyside lines adding a strong sculptural feel and connecting the wheels and tires. There is a projection of motion, even when the vehicle is standing still and 21-inch wheels with low-profile tires complete the look.

About the Nissan Sentra NISMO Concept:
Building on the production version of its nameplate, the Sentra NISMO Concept  produces more than 240 horsepower from its 1.8-litre direct injection turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, and comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, limited slip differential, enhanced aerodynamics and NISMO-tuned suspension and steering.

Like previous Nissan performance sedans, the look is sophisticated and confident featuring a deep front fascia with lower LED lights, wide lower grille, a wide lower front spoiler and  custom rear spoiler and centre rear fog lamp complete the look. Inside, the equally engaging cockpit features full NISMO-inspired upgrades including Recaro "sportster" front seats with custom black leather and Alcantara® appointments.

About the 2014 Nissan Versa Note SR:
The new Versa Note SR's standout styling starts with the modern, sculpted look of the second-generation Versa Note and adds a wide range of exclusive features. In front, a unique fascia and grille combine with a dark headlight treatment and standard fog lights with black and chrome accents to provide an aggressive, sporty character.

Body-colour side spoilers and redesigned side mirrors with integrated turn signals complement Versa Note's distinctive "squash line" side profile. The dynamic exterior look is capped off by a unique rear spoiler, SR badging and high-contrast machine-finished 16-inch sport aluminum-alloy wheels with dark paint mounted with 195/55R16 all-season tires.

Versa Note SR interior enhancements include an exclusive 370Z-inspired leather-wrapped steering wheel, suede-like fabric seats with sporty orange accents and double stitching, a redesigned piano black center instrument panel with silver accents and chrome knobs, and Euro-inspired Fine Vision triple-dial gauge cluster with floating trip computer.
