YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for April 2016.

1. Production

Nissan's global production in April increased 8.9 percent year-on-year to 449,866 units, the third consecutive month of increase and a record for the month of April.

Production in Japan decreased 5.1 percent year-on-year to 60,086 units.

Production outside Japan increased 11.4 percent year-on-year to 389,780 units, the twelfth consecutive month of increase and a record for the month of April.

In the U.S., production increased 18.6 percent year-on-year to 88,138 units, a record for the month of April.

In Mexico, production increased 7.9 percent year-on-year to 70,517 units, a record for the month of April.

In the U.K., production increased 23.8 percent year-on-year to 44,899 units, a record for the month of April.

In Spain, production increased 35.5 percent year-on-year to 12,086 units.

In China, production increased 8.7 percent year-on-year to 107,056 units.

Production in other regions increased 0.9 percent year-on-year to 67,084 units.

2. Sales

Global sales increased 0.5 percent year-on-year to 397,109 units, the third consecutive month of increase.

Japan:
Sales including mini-vehicles decreased 22.3 percent year-on-year to 25,617 units.

  • Vehicle registrations decreased 7.0 percent year-on-year to 20,043 units.
  • Mini-vehicle sales decreased 51.2 percent year-on-year to 5,574 units.

Sales outside Japan increased 2.5 percent year-on-year to 371,492 units, the twelfth consecutive month of increase and a record for the month of April.

In the U.S., sales increased 12.8 percent year-on-year to 123,861 units, a record for the month of April.

In Mexico, sales increased 17.1 percent year-on-year to 28,915 units, a record for the month of April.

In Europe, sales decreased 2.9 percent year-on-year to 54,033 units.

In China, sales increased 0.7 percent year-on-year to 96,163 units.

Sales in other regions decreased 13.6 percent year-on-year to 56,281 units.

3. Exports from Japan

Exports in April decreased 17.1 percent year-on-year to 37,726 units.
