In his 2017 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) keynote, Nissan chairman of the board and chief executive officer Carlos Ghosn announced several technologies and partnerships as part of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility blueprint for transforming how cars are driven, powered, and integrated into wider society. These technologies will advance mobility toward a zero-emission, zero-fatality future on the roads.

Today, I experienced the unusual, thrilling sensation of riding in the driver's seat of an autonomous-drive car as it navigated the streets of Sunnyvale in California's Silicon Valley. The car is an advanced prototype Infiniti Q50 sedan capable of handling complex city driving. It has a special California registration for autonomous drive vehicles, and I had to receive a special state license to operate it hands-free.

Nissan Group Reports Record December and 2016 Calendar Year Canadian Sales

Nissan announced today the Nissan Group set an all-time annual sales record with 134,153 total Canadian sales in 2016 - an increase of 3.2 per cent over 2015. This marks four years of consecutive annual sales growth for the Nissan Group in Canada. For December 2016, Nissan reported total Canadian sales of 8,587 units, a decrease of 9.4 per cent.

2017 Nissan Altima, Maxima and Rogue earn Top Safety Pick Plus ratings from IIHS

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) today awarded three 2017 Nissan vehicles with its "Top Safety Pick Plus" (TSP+) vehicle safety rating, which is the group's highest-available designation. The 2017 Nissan Altima, Maxima and Rogue each scored at least a "Good" rating in all five "Top Safety Pick" (TSP) test categories and earned "Top Safety Pick Plus" status with "Advanced" or "Superior" ratings for front crash prevention for models equipped with optional Forward Emergency Braking. Beginning this year a "Good" or "Acceptable" rating for headlight performance is also required to earn a TSP+ rating.
