Nissan’s Andrew Tavi named in Nashville Business Journal’s 2014 Best of the Bar

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nissan’s Andrew Tavi, vice president, Legal and Government Affairs, Secretary and General Counsel, was named to Nashville Business Journal’s 2014 Best of the Bar, a list of Nashville’s best in the legal profession.

“Andrew is a strong leader who views his lawyers as business executives with legal training, and he challenges them to use their knowledge of the law to find innovative solutions to business problems,” said Scott Becker, Nissan’s senior vice president of Administration and Finance. “With this deeply rooted, business-first mindset and his strong relationships with key constituents—local and abroad—he has been instrumental in positioning Nissan as a leader in the community and in the automotive industry.”

Tavi began his Nissan career in 2009 and with more than 100 employees in seven offices, he is now responsible for all of Nissan’s legal and government affairs activities in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Latin America. Under his leadership, Nissan’s legal department has achieved industry-recognized results in contested matters, managed global partnerships with Renault and Daimler and provided vital support as Nissan pioneered the rollout of electric vehicles and infrastructure. Tavi holds a bachelor of arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan.

The Best of the Bar awards recognize outstanding lawyers in the Nashville area, and winners are nominated and chosen by their peers in the legal community.
