Nissan Reports Record Results for February in Mexico

2013 Nissan Pathfinder

• Nissan recorded February sales with 20,411 units sold and 25.5 percent market share.
• Nissan has maintained its leadership position for 45 consecutive months.
• Sales of the new Pathfinder grew an outstanding 545 percent, for a total of 300 units.

MEXICO CITY - Nissan reported all-time record sales for February in Mexico with 20,411 units sold and 25.5 percent market share of the Mexican automotive industry. Nissan has a lead of 6.8 points over its closest competitor (+5.375 units) and a lead of 10.9 percentage points (8,694 units) over the third-ranked brand.

These February figures are the result of a strong product portfolio, business strategies designed to drive further growth in partnership with dealers, as well as the support of Credi Nissan, the brand´s financial arm.

NISSAN HIGHLIGHTS

  • Pathfinder had outstanding growth of 545 percent (compared to February 2012) and sold 300 units.
  • The new NV350 Urvan sold 628 units, an 8 percent increase, during its first month of sales.
  • Nissan Sentra continues to deliver solid results, with sales of 2,342 units in February, 47 percent more than the same month of the previous year.
  • Nissan Versa also obtained a growth of 10 percent, or 4,161 units.
  • NP300 reached 4,109 units sold, up 12.5 percent versus February 2012.
  • Tsuru also increased in sales for a total of 3,530 units (7 percent higher) due to increased availability.

Within the list of the top 10 best-selling models in Mexico, five models are Nissan: Versa, NP300, Tsuru, Sentra and Tiida.

"We are proud of Nissan´s performance in February, the third consecutive month when we have surpassed the 25 percent share mark," said Jose Valls, president and managing director, Nissan Mexicana. "This is the result of great work by a team that challenges itself continually to deliver positive results in close collaboration with a highly committed dealer network. I am very proud of them."

Infiniti
Infiniti, the luxury car brand, reported sales of 105 units in February, reaching 133 percent growth compared to the previous year. Infiniti maintains 2 percent market penetration in the premium segment.

Infiniti JX35 confirmed its good acceptance in February with sales of 56 vehicles, followed by the G37 Sedan with 16 units.
