Company donates $10,000 to Washington Rotary Club Foundation and institutes matching gift program in wake of devastating tornados

WASHINGTON, IL. – Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) announced its charitable contribution of $10,000 to the Washington Rotary Club Foundation in Washington, Ill. The donation was made to support recovery efforts following the devastating tornados that tore through the small town on November 17, 2013.

"We were immediately moved to help, after witnessing the devastation and tragedy that the city of Washington endured during last month's violent weather patterns," said Bryan Dumais, regional vice president for Nissan's Midwest Region. "These financial contributions are a direct reflection on Nissan's commitment to give back and show how much we care about the communities where we do business."

In addition to this direct contribution, Nissan has also instituted its Matching Gift Program to benefit the residents of Washington, Ill. The Nissan Gift Matching Program supports an array of organizations while acknowledging the company's employees' diverse interests. The program matches personal donations to approved non-profit organizations dollar-for-dollar; effectively doubling each monetary gift on behalf of the company. Nissan will match one dollar for every one dollar of qualifying contributions up to $2,000 per fiscal year per employee; the minimum contribution is $25.

In the wake of Washington's tragedy, The Washington Rotary Club Foundation has received thousands of dollars in donations from Rotary Clubs throughout the United States and internationally. Their primary goal is to secure housing for victims of this terrible disaster. The organization's distribution of monetary grants have allowed Washington residents and families begin the process of rebuilding their lives.
