Nissan Launches Official Instagram Channel at New York International Auto Show

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – This week, as Nissan showcases its innovative vehicle lineup to media and consumers at the 2013 New York International Auto Show, the brand is giving fans everywhere a new way to experience the show by launching its official Instagram channel. Nissan North America Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing José Muñoz will capture and share behind-the-scenes photos from the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center via the brand's new profile.

Instagram users can follow Nissan at http://instagram.com/nissanusa and look for Muñoz's photos with the #NissanNYIAS hashtag. After the auto show, Nissan will continue to use its Instagram profile to engage with fans and provide unique and exclusive access to the brand's products and events throughout the year.

"Hundreds of users are sharing photos of Nissan vehicles on Instagram every day, and with the increasingly visual nature of social media, we only expect these numbers to grow," said Erich Marx, Director, Interactive & Social Media Marketing, Nissan North America. "As a brand, we want to have a presence wherever consumers are talking about our products."

While new to Instagram, Nissan has been engaging with consumers in a number of social media channels. The brand currently has more than 5.5 million global Facebook fans, 2.1 million fans on Google+, as well as thriving profiles on Twitter, YouTube, and Pinterest. Recently, JD Power & Associates named Nissan a leading automotive brand in social media marketing.
