Growing Ac-Customed: Tokyo Auto Salon

MAKUHARI, Chiba Prefecture, Japan – Nissan, NISMO and Autech are displaying the best in customization at Tokyo Auto Salon 2014, an industry event in Japan that draws thousands of car owners and enthusiasts.

A tradition for more than 25 years, last year's Auto Salon featured over 800 vehicles, 450 exhibitors and 3,600 booths.

Suppliers, owners and custom car aficionados are everywhere, along with the usual booth staff, signature goods and apparel.

Vehicles at the joint stand range from the GT-R NISMO to the latest Nissan X-TRAIL or LEAF – all featuring customized touches, while the event puts on display the innovative DNA embedded in 80 years of car making.

Nissan Vice Chairman Toshiyuki Shiga and Nismo President Shoichi Miyatani toured the stand early Friday, then took a walkabout with Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association Chairman Akio Toyoda.
