NASHVILLE, Tenn. Kiplinger's Personal Finance has named the 2015 Nissan Murano the "Best New/Redesigned Midsize Crossover" in the publication's annual 2015 Best Value Awards – a comprehensive review that "reveals the best values on the newest models." The Murano, which hit dealerships in December, received the accolade yesterday afternoon at the 2015 Washington Auto Show.

Each year, Kiplinger's editors review hundreds of vehicles to determine the top winners in a variety of categories ranked by price, performance, value, safety, roominess and driving impressions. The all-new Murano and other Best Value Awards winners will be featured in Kiplinger's annual buyer's guide, "Deals on New Wheels," available on newsstands Feb. 10.

"Nissan essentially created the crossover segment with the debut of the Murano in 2002, and now, 13 years later, the 2015 Nissan Murano is helping define the segment once again," said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations. "The redesigned Murano was created to provide drivers with an undeniable sense of comfort, style and innovation and this award certainly reaffirms that ideal. It's an honor to be recognized by Kiplinger's Personal Finance."

The all-new third-generation Murano features concept car-like styling, premium interior and advanced, purposeful technology. The breakthrough exterior design projects a sense of refined intensity, creating an immediate "wow" response, with a low 0.31 Cd drag coefficient. The breakthrough exterior design carries into the interior, which offers an engaging social lounge feel through features such as the refined instrument panel, low center console, advanced NASA-inspired Zero Gravity front and outboard rear seating, and the airy atmosphere created by the large windows and oversized Power Panoramic Moonroof.

Premium features and driving assistance technologies abound in the 2015 Murano, including available NissanConnectSM with Navigation and Mobile Apps, 8-inch color display with multi-touch control, Around View® Monitor, Nissan Intelligent Key® with Push Button Ignition, 11-speaker Bose® premium audio system, Moving Object Detection (MOD), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

Every 2015 Murano comes with a standard 260-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC V6 connected to an advanced Xtronic transmission. Fuel economy has increased 20 percent (over the previous generation) for combined mpg and is rated at 21/28/24 mpg city/highway/combined for both front-wheel and all-wheel drive models.
