All of Nissan’s U.S.-based NISMO race teams in action this weekend at Road America and Watkins Glen

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nissan’s U.S.–based professional road racing teams have a rare twin bill this weekend, as both the Pirelli World Challenge series and the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge visit two of America’s prettiest and most challenging road racing circuits in North America.

NISMO athlete and 2011 GT Academy winner Bryan Heitkotter and teammate James Davison look to extend their strong performances in their Always Evolving Nissan GT-R GT3 NISMOs at a track most observers figure to bring the best out of the cars and drivers. As a bonus, the AE Nissans will run three races at the 4.048-mile, 14-turn Northern Wisconsin road course, due to the second round rain out at Detroit in May.

“At the beginning of the season, we figured Road America would be one of the strongest tracks for the GT-R,” said Rick Kulach, Nissan North America Motorsports Manager. “The car should excel on the long straights and high-speed corners at this track. The way this team is coming together and making improvements, I am confident we can get a good result in all three races this weekend.”

Additionally this weekend, Salt Lake City-based CA Motorsports will field a Nissan Altima 3.5 in the Touring Car class, driven by Circuit of the Americas race winner and team manager Vesko Kozarov.

Live online streaming of all races will be available at www.world-challengetv.com. GT/GTA Race 1 is Friday at 1:40 p.m. Race 2 is Saturday at 1:35 p.m., and Race 3 is Sunday at 2:25 p.m. All times are Eastern. Broadcast on CBS Sports Network will air Sunday July 5 at 2 p.m. Eastern/1:00 p.m. Central.

Doran Racing 370Zs at Watkins Glen

Doran Racing’s twin Nissan 370Z NISMOs will try to extend their recent success at historic Watkins Glen in upstate New York this weekend. The #14 car will again have Brad Jaeger and B.J. Zacharias sharing duties in the 150-minute Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge (CTSCC) race on Saturday. Last year, Zacharias had a shot to win the race entering the last turn, but was blocked by a lapped car and lost a drag race to the checkered flag by less than 0.2 second.

The #41 sister car will be in the hands of GT Academy winners and teammates Steve Doherty (2012) and Nick McMillen (2013).

“I am super excited to be back with the Doran team at another great track,” said Illinois native Doherty. “Our cars are very strong here, and I'm looking forward to getting back behind the wheel for the second time this season. Nick and I will make a good team, and we should do well here at Watkins Glen.”

Live online streaming of all races from the 11-turn, 3.4-mile road course at Watkins Glen will be available at www.imsa.com on Saturday June 27 from 12:25 to 2:55 p.m. ET. Fox Sports 1 will air the race Sunday July 5 from 10 a.m. to noon ET.
