Energized by the best finishes so far this year in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge series for both of its Nissan 370Zs two weeks ago when they placed second and fourth, Doran Racing is looking for an outright victory in Saturday's 2.5-hour race at VIRginia International Raceway.
With the final day of the 2015 Nissan PlayStation® GT Academy International Race Camp upon us, tensions were understandably high. Only 10 contestants from an original 30 remained in the competitions, two from each of the countries.
After a grueling weekend where the field of International Race Camp finalists was slashed from 30 to 15, the newly streamlined group of competitors were wondering what was in store for them next as they prepared to set off for their latest challenge at a mystery location.
After a late finish to GT Ninja last night and an early rise today, not too dissimilar to the amount of sleep a driver would face during a 24 hour endurance race, the competitors were greeted by a double elimination – two contestants from each territory would go home immediately.
The second day of the 2015 NISMO PlayStation® GT Academy International Race Camp began in a slightly more tranquil manner than the competitors had experienced on Day 1. On the first day, the competitors were thrust in to the hot seat of numerous fast cars to demonstrate if they could transfer their Gran Turismo® gaming aptitude in to a real life track scenario at the Bedford Aerodrome. Some down time allowed the competitors to report home and deliberate on the events ahead, with most of the chatter turning to when the first elimination was going to take place.
