After claiming nine international championships around the world in 2015, Nissan will continue to participate in various categories and championships as well as build on its customer support programs in 2016.
Nissan has confirmed the driver line-up for its Bathurst 12 Hour defense, with former V8 Supercars champion Rick Kelly to partner 2015 winners Katsumasa Chiyo and GT Academy winner Florian Strauss at the endurance classic on February 5-7, 2016.
The final round of the 2015 Super GT Championship took place at Twin Ring Motegi last weekend, and the #1 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R of Tsugio Matsuda and Ronnie Quintarelli accomplished an amazing comeback from 12th to finish in second place. Displacing the ranking leader, the #12 Calsonic IMPUL GT-R of Hironobu Yasuda and Joao Paolo de Oliveira, they secured their second GT500 championship in a row.
Round 4 of the Japanese SUPER GT race series was held under blistering heat at Fuji Speedway (1 lap - 4.563km) in Shizuoka Prefecture, as the #24 "D'station ADVAN GT-R" (Daiki Sasaki / Michael Krumm) grabbed victory in the GT500 class.
Blessed with fine weather, Round 2 of the SUPER GT was held at Fuji International Speedway (Oyama, Shizuoka Prefecture, 1-lap 4.563km) last weekend where the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500 grabbed first and second place in the GT500 class, while the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 achieved the same in the GT300 class, making this a total domination by Nissan.
