Heitkotter Storms to Top Position in Road America Qualifying

Bryan Heitkotter

ELKHART LAKE, Wisc. – 2011 GT Academy USA champion Bryan Heitkotter put the Nissan Motorsports – GT Academy 370Z NISMO on the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC) pole for the third time in his career, blistering the hilly Road America circuit in Wisconsin with a lap time of 2:22.295 at more than 102 mph.

"I had to push pretty hard for that one," said the 32-year old Fresno, California native. "This car seems to be a bit better than last year, so we have to get out there and prove we can be quick through traffic and win a race for Nissan and Kevin (Doran). Heitkotter qualified second for the race here last season."

Heikotter's fast lap edged out the BMW M3 of Trent Hindman and the Aston Martin Vantage of Frank Montecalvo in qualifying for Saturday's 250-miler.

The race will be televised on SPEED TV on delay - August 17 at 3 p.m. Eastern / 2 p.m. Central. For more information and the latest news about GRAND-AM Road Racing and the CTSCC, follow the series online at http://www.grand-am.com.
