Nissan to offer standard Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) on one million U.S. vehicles in 2018 model year
Nissan today announced that it is making Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) standard on a projected one million vehicles sold in the United States for model year 2018, including seven of the company's most popular models – Rogue/Rogue Sport, Altima, Murano, LEAF, Pathfinder, Maxima and Sentra (except manual transmission-equipped and all NISMO versions).

2017 Nissan Altima, Maxima and Rogue earn Top Safety Pick Plus ratings from IIHS
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) today awarded three 2017 Nissan vehicles with its "Top Safety Pick Plus" (TSP+) vehicle safety rating, which is the group's highest-available designation. The 2017 Nissan Altima, Maxima and Rogue each scored at least a "Good" rating in all five "Top Safety Pick" (TSP) test categories and earned "Top Safety Pick Plus" status with "Advanced" or "Superior" ratings for front crash prevention for models equipped with optional Forward Emergency Braking. Beginning this year a "Good" or "Acceptable" rating for headlight performance is also required to earn a TSP+ rating.

Updated 2017 Nissan Pathfinder earns 5-star NCAP rating
The refreshed 2017 Nissan Pathfinder has earned a 5-star overall vehicle safety rating as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). Beginning with the 2011 model year, NHTSA introduced more stringent tests and requirements in order to earn 5-star ratings. The previous Pathfinder earned a 5-star NCAP rating each year since 2014.

2016 Nissan Sentra Achieves Top Safety Pick Plus rating by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety
Today the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) upgraded the 2016 Nissan Sentra to its highest rating of "Top Safety Pick Plus" when equipped with optional Forward Emergency Braking technology. The Sentra had previously held the agency's Top Safety Pick designation prior to IIHS confirmation of the required front crash prevention technology performance.

2015 Nissan Sentra earns Top Safety Pick from IIHS
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) today awarded the 2015 Nissan Sentra a “Top Safety Pick” vehicle safety rating. The Institute’s “Top Safety Pick” award recognizes passenger vehicles that excel in protecting passengers in moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests and also achieve a “Good” or “Acceptable” rating in the small overlap frontal test. The 2015 Sentra scored “Good” in all five of the “Top Safety Pick” categories.
