Nissan brings "No Charge to Charge" program to Salt Lake City

2016 Nissan LEAF

SALT LAKE CITY – Nissan is launching its "No Charge to Charge" promotion for Nissan LEAF buyers in Salt Lake City, providing up to two years complimentary public charging with the qualifying purchase of the all-electric car from LEAF-certified dealers in that market*.

"Nissan LEAF is an attractive option for Salt Lake City car buyers," said Andrew Speaker, director, Electric Vehicle (EV) Sales & Marketing, Nissan. "In addition to the federal tax credit of up to $7,500, some LEAF buyers may also be eligible for an income tax credit of up to $1,500, HOV lane access and free metered parking for up to two hours. Those benefits, combined with access to free public charging, significantly lower operating costs and zero spending on gas, make owning an all-electric vehicle a cost-effective and convenient choice."

"No Charge to Charge" launches at Nissan LEAF dealers in the Salt Lake City market on November 3. The promotion includes access to fast chargers that can charge a LEAF battery pack from empty to 80 percent in about 30 minutes, as well as level 2 (240V) chargers spread throughout the area; charging times may vary.

Salt Lake City is the 21st market within Nissan’s "No Charge to Charge" program. Other markets include San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, Fresno, Seattle, Portland (Oregon), Chicago, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Nashville, Phoenix, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston, Denver, Washington D.C., Boston, Monterey, Raleigh-Durham and Austin. Nissan plans to expand the "No Charge to Charge" program to a total of 25 U.S. markets in the coming months.

With more than 192,000 global sales and about 86,000 in the U.S., Nissan LEAF is the world's best-selling electric car. A 2015 Nissan LEAF starts at approximately $21,510** after the federal tax credit of $7,500, and it features seating for up to five passengers, lower running costs and an EPA-estimated*** range of up to 84 miles on a full charge. The 2016 LEAF, which goes on sale later this fall, boasts an EPA-rated range of 107 miles for SV and SL models.

All LEAF models feature an 80kW AC synchronous motor that generates 107 horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque, providing a highly responsive, fun-to-drive experience that consumers often expect from traditional, gasoline-powered vehicles. Unlike internal combustion engine-equipped vehicles, LEAF has no tailpipe, which means there is no emission of CO2 or other greenhouse gases.

Consumers can find chargers eligible for "No Charge to Charge" via the LEAF EZ-Charge app for iOS or Android or at www.ez-charge.com/stations.
