CANTON, Miss. (July 25, 2013) - Studies show that reading out loud to children is strongly related to academic achievement later in life. And, experts say, children who learn to read early come from families who have books in the home. Now, through a $400,000 grant, Nissan is working with United Way of the Capital Area to provide free books every month to 35,000 eligible Mississippi preschoolers from birth to age 5 through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program.
