Nissan Celebrates Two Years of LEAF Sales with Announcement of U.S. Battery Plant

Dec. 12 - With two years of Nissan LEAF sales just completed, Nissan announced the launch of the United States’ largest lithium-ion automotive battery plant in Smyrna, Tenn. The facility – which is making battery components for the ramp-up of production of the all-electric, zero-emission 2013 Nissan LEAF early next year – is one of three of its kind in the world operated by a major automaker.

Nissan North America Sets New November Sales Record

Dec. 3 - In November, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) reported record November U.S. sales of 96,197 units versus 85,182 units a year earlier, up 12.9 percent. Nissan Division set a new November record, with sales up 9.8 percent for the month over the prior year at 84,300 units. Sales of Infiniti vehicles were 11,897, up 41.2 percent over the prior year, also a November record. Good stuff.
