Andrew Tavi is vice president, legal and government affairs, secretary and general counsel for Nissan North America, a position to which he was appointed in August 2009. In this role, Tavi reports Scott E. Becker, senior vice president, Administration and Finance for Nissan North America, Inc. and is responsible for ensuring Nissan's adherence to all laws, rules and regulations affecting the company's operations across the Americas, for defending and protecting the Nissan and Infiniti Brands, and for developing, maintaining and utilizing Nissan's relationships with governmental entities and representatives.
Tavi joined Nissan as Assistant General Counsel in 2009. Prior to joining Nissan, he served as chief executive officer and general counsel at Noble International Ltd., a publicly traded automotive supplier based in Michigan. He joined Noble in 2005 as Deputy General Counsel and was promoted to vice president, General Counsel and Secretary in 2006. His legal responsibilities at Noble included securities laws compliance, investor relations support, litigation, intellectual property, governance and compliance matters for North America, Asia and Europe. He was instrumental in leading Noble's growth through management of acquisitions in Europe, North and South America and Asia.
Before Noble, Tavi worked at two blue-chip law firms based in Detroit where he focused on corporate law, private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions and real estate matters.
Tavi holds a bachelor of arts and doctor of jurisprudence from the University of Michigan. He is based at Nissan North America, Inc. in Franklin, Tenn.
