Andrew Tavi is vice president, Legal, Government Affairs and Human Resources (HR), Secretary and General Counsel, Nissan Group of North America and Latin America. He was appointed vice president of legal and government affairs and general counsel in 2009, and added responsibility for the Human Resources function in August 2014
Tavi is responsible for all legal, government affairs and human resources activities for Nissan and Infiniti across all of North America and Latin America. Responsibilities include ensuring that Nissan and its affiliates adhere to all laws, rules and regulations affecting their operations and developing and maintaining relationships with governmental entities and representatives. They also include all recruitment, talent management, employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, employee and management training, succession planning and career development.
In the North America region, Tavi reports to José Muñoz, executive vice president, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and chairman, Nissan North America, for all human resources activities, and to Scott Becker, senior vice president, Administration & Finance, Nissan North America, Inc., for all legal and government affairs activities. In the Latin America region, Tavi reports to José Valls, chairman, Nissan Latin America, for all legal, government affairs and human resource activities.
Prior to joining Nissan in 2009, Tavi served as interim chief executive officer and general counsel at Noble International Ltd., a publicly traded, global automotive supplier based in Michigan. Tavi spent most of his career at Noble as Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel, and was instrumental in leading Noble's growth through management of acquisitions in Europe, North and South America and Asia.
Before Noble, Tavi worked at two full-service, international law firms where he focused on corporate law, private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions and real estate matters.
Tavi holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Michigan and doctor of jurisprudence from the University of Michigan Law School. He is based in Franklin, Tenn.
