Dec. 12 - With two years of Nissan LEAF sales just completed, Nissan announced the launch of the United States’ largest lithium-ion automotive battery plant in Smyrna, Tenn. The facility – which is making battery components for the ramp-up of production of the all-electric, zero-emission 2013 Nissan LEAF early next year – is one of three of its kind in the world operated by a major automaker.
Dec. 3 - In November, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) reported record November U.S. sales of 96,197 units versus 85,182 units a year earlier, up 12.9 percent. Nissan Division set a new November record, with sales up 9.8 percent for the month over the prior year at 84,300 units. Sales of Infiniti vehicles were 11,897, up 41.2 percent over the prior year, also a November record. Good stuff.
Nov. 28 - The Nissan Hi-Cross Concept, which made its North America debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, offers a bold design statement about the next-generation of Nissan crossovers.
Oct. 31 - Nissan North America will offer employee pricing and discounted financing on Nissan and Infiniti vehicles to eligible individuals in FEMA-designated disaster and emergency areas who need to replace vehicles lost to Hurricane Sandy.
Oct. 21 - History was made in Atlanta when Nissan DeltaWing scored its first ever race finish, taking fifth place overall in the grueling 1000-mile Petit Le Mans race, despite starting from the back of the grid of 42 endurance racers.
Oct. 15 - With the introduction of the all-new 4th generation model, not only does Pathfinder provide capability with comfortable seating for seven, intuitive 4WD and 5000-pound standard towing capacity, but it resets the standard for the segment with an unprecedented level of premium style, comfort, fuel economy and thoughtful technology.
Aug. 1 - Nissan's all-new 2013 Sentra continues the brand's product onslaught as the third of five all-new vehicles being introduced in a 15-month period.
Jun. 7 - The all-new 2013 Nissan Altima, the first of five all-new models Nissan will introduce in the next 15 months, began being delivered to dealers on June 6, the same day Nissan began production at its second U.S. assembly plant in Canton, Miss.
Apr. 3 - Each day, 600,000 New Yorkers hop in the back of a taxi - the iconic yellow cab that is a symbol of New York City around the world. On April 3, the first full vehicle prototype of the Taxi of Tomorrow was seen by drivers, passengers and owners. The 2014 Nissan NV200 Taxi, New York's Taxi of Tomorrow, made its global debut at a special event in SoHo with Nissan President and CEO Carlos Ghosn and New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.
Feb. 29 - Beginning March 1, drivers across the country got their first opportunity to order their Nissan LEAF, as Nissan North America Inc. (NNA) expanded availability for all U.S. markets, nationwide.
