Derrick Hatami is vice president, Sales – U.S., Nissan North America, Inc., a position to which he was appointed in January 2014. In this role, Hatami reports to Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Parts & Service, U.S.
Hatami's responsibilities include day-to-day sales functions of the Nissan Division in the U.S., as well as Vehicle Operations and Light Commercial Vehicle and Fleet functions. He is the top U.S. sales liaison working directly with the regional vice presidents, the U.S. headquarters Sales and Dealer Network Development teams and all key stakeholder groups to ensure collaboration and coordination on sales objectives and deliverables.
Prior to joining Nissan, Hatami was West Region general manager at Hyundai where he held various sales and marketing leadership roles. He also previously worked at both JD Power & Associates and Accenture, managing automotive-focused engagements.
Hatami holds a bachelor's degree in business and a master's degree in business management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) – Sloan School of Management with a focus on business strategy and marketing. He is based in Franklin, Tenn.
