Doran Nissan shows speed, struggles with electrical gremlin at VIR

DANVILLE, Virginia – The #14 Doran Racing Nissan 370Z NISMO was running in the top five at Virginia International Raceway when a loose connection to the alternator cause the engine to lose power and knocked out the car's ABS system.  Brad Jaeger was slowing down from 155 mph and locked up the brakes, causing a spectacular spin. Returning to the pits, the car took almost 20 minutes to replace the cable and battery, returning to the track 10 laps down.

"We had the car to beat here," said Jaeger's co-driver BJ Zacharias. "The team did an awesome job and even though we were many laps down, we had one of the fastest cars on the track at the end.  It's a shame."

The VIR Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge (CTSCC) race will air on Fox Sports 1 on August 31 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern.  The next CTSCC race will at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas from September 19 to 20.
