After an interrupted race on Saturday, former GT Academy winner Heitkotter was in fine form on Sunday starting on the front row of the grid. He challenged for the lead on the opening lap before settling into second place, while Davison moved through the pack to also challenge for a podium. Both Always Evolving / AIM Autosport drivers suffered similar turbo issues which forced them to pit lane and out of contention. "The whole weekend was one of ups and downs,” said Heitkotter. “I had a technical issue on the opening lap in race one so that put a damper on my race but James finished fifth which was great for the team. I had a really good start today and was challenging for the lead before we had a full course caution come out on the opening lap. On the restart I got another good start and settled into second place. "I didn't have anything for the leader, but I was able to hold third place off and the car was really good. We suffered some heartbreak at the end with about five or six minutes to go which was disappointing because we had pretty much been running at the front all weekend. It wasn't the results we wanted but we'll come back stronger at the next round at Mid-Ohio." # # # Contact Jane JohnstoneMarketing Communications DirectorGlobal Motorsport CommunicationsNissan/NISMOPhone: +44 7979 710646Email: jane.johnstone@nissan.co.uk Paul RyanMarketing and PR ManagerPhone: +1 678 644 0404Email: paul@nismosupport.com Issued by Nissan Files Heartbreaking weekend in Pirelli World Challenge.pdf (53 KB) Save Remove Download Share Photos / Galleries / Videos Subscribe to Email Alerts Files Heartbreaking weekend in Pirelli World Challenge.pdf (53 KB)
