John Martin

John Martin is senior vice president, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing, Nissan North America, Inc., a position to which he was appointed in January 2014. In this role, Martin reports to José Muñoz, chief performance officer, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and chairman, Nissan North America.

Martin is responsible for managing all facets of Nissan's manufacturing operations in the U.S.A. and Mexico, including all supply chain and purchasing operations.

Martin joined Nissan Manufacturing U.K. Ltd. in 1991 as a senior controller, Production Control. He since has held a number of roles of increasing responsibility throughout Nissan's operations including general manager, European Logistics Operations; director, Production Control Nissan Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd; vice president of Supply Chain Management for Nissan North America, Inc.; corporate vice president, Supply Chain Management for Nissan Motor Co., Ltd and most recently senior vice president [Europe] Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing. In 2012, he was awarded The Nissan President's Prize for Outstanding Executive Contribution for his leadership of Nissan's recovery from the Japanese Earthquake and Thai floods in 2011.

Martin holds a joint honors BSc degree in physics and chemistry from Trinity College University, Dublin, Ireland. He is based in Smyrna, Tennessee.
