Mark Swenson

Mark Swenson is vice president, Production Engineering and Quality, for Nissan North America Inc., a position to which he was appointed in April 2014. In this role, Swenson reports to John Martin, senior vice president, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing and is responsible for ensuring maximum output at the highest level of quality possible in all of Nissan's U.S. and Mexican manufacturing operations.

Previously, Swenson was vice president,  Production Engineering and Component Facilities. In this role, he was responsible for leading vehicle and powertrain production activities at Nissan's facilities in Smyrna and Decherd, Tennessee; Canton, Mississippi; Cuernavaca and Aguascalientes, Mexico; Curitiba, Brazil and Nissan Technical Center North America in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Swenson joined Nissan in 1989 as a product engineer. He was promoted to the management team in 1997 and has held director and senior director positions in Stamping Engineering and Body Engineering. In 2004, Swenson was named vice president, Manufacturing Engineering and added Simultaneous Engineering activities to his role in April 2006.

Swenson holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville. He serves as a board member for the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce and on the board of advisers for Tennessee Tech's Manufacturing Research Center. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Rutherford program. He is based in Smyrna, Tennessee.
