NBA Reports February Sales Results

RIO DE JANEIRO - Nissan do Brasil ended February with 5,060 units sold. The Frontier midsize pick-up and the Versa compact sedan stood out from the rest of the range.

The Nissan Versa, the market's first Japanese compact sedan, accounted for 1,463 registrations, an increase of 22% compared to February 2012. The Frontier pick-up totaled 822 registrations, which represents a 6% increase compared to same period last year.

In terms of regional markets, Nissan had an outstanding performance in Recife (Pernambuco), with 5.3% of market share, in addition to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo where Nissan reported 3.1% and 3.8% respectively.

"From the second half of March, Nissan will begin a new cycle with the renewal of import quotas vehicle from Mexico. This fact, combined with the start of production of our new factory in Resende (RJ) in the first half of 2014 will contribute to NBA solid growth, towards the goal of being a major player in the Brazilian market, and towards our goal of achieving our target of 5% market share by 2016, " said Manuel La Guardia, NBA vice president of Marketing and Sales.

February highlights:

Frontier – The pick-up truck had 7.3% market share and 822 units sold
Versa – 1,463 units sold, an increase of 22% compared to same period last year 
March – The brand's compact model accounted for 1,735 units sold
Livina Family – 504 units registered

Dealerships – With the opening of Rumar in Concórdia (South of Brazil), the Nissan Dealership Network has now 160 stores.
