NBA Sets Record of 100,000 Cars Sold in One Year

Nissan March

SAO PAULO, BRAZIL - Nissan do Brasil is announcing a record of 100,000 units sold in one year. The previous record was set in 2011 when it sold 67,280 units while also recording the largest increase in sales. With six days left until the end of the year, NBA has already benefited from an increase of 49% compared to the previous year.

A sales record in 2012 is an important step towards Nissan do Bras il's growth plan, which aims to achieve a 5% market share and jump from the current 157 outlets to 240 by 2016.

The Nissan March stands out in terms of sales volumes, accounting for 32%. The Nissan Versa represents 18%, while the Livina Family and the Frontier make up 15% and 17% respectively. The Tiida family was responsible for 9% of the total sales, while the Sentra sedan totaled 8%.

"Announcing the sale of 100,000 units in one year means a lot to us and we are very happy for having made it. We are convinced that we are on the right track towards our sustainable growth, which will be complemented by the inauguration of our new plant in Rio, as of 2014," said Christian Meunier, NBA's President.

With its positive sales record in Brazil, Nissan has earned good market share in the country's major centers, where the sector's competitiveness is even greater. In São Paulo, the largest market in the industry, the company has 4.7% market share. In Rio de Janeiro Nissan has 4.5%, followed by 4.9% in Recife, 4.3% in Curitiba, 3.9% in Brasilia, and 3.6% in Porto Alegre.
