Nissan Altima awarded Edmunds.com trophy for Best Retained Value in midsize sedan segment

2014 Nissan Altima

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The 2014 Nissan Altima has just been awarded the Best Retained Value® in the mid-size sedan segment by Edmunds.com. Edging out all other midsize sedans with an overall retained value of 47.3 percent, Altima was judged to have the highest projected residual value after five years, based on their average "cash" True Market Value® (TMV®) price during their first five months in the market.

Earlier this year, the prestigious website named Altima, Nissan's top-selling vehicle, one of its "2014 Most Popular Midsize Cars" as well as a "Top Rated Vehicle."

For this year's Best Retained Value® Awards, each model's segment was determined by its body type, the size of the vehicle within its body type segment and the model's competitive luxury/non-luxury class. Awards were based on each automaker's 2014 models that launched prior to the end of 2013.

"With thoughtful technology and 38 mpg highway fuel economy*, the 2014 Nissan Altima continues to be a top contender in an extremely competitive class," said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations. "Built to inspire and withstand the elements of time, the Altima was designed to satisfy the needs of owners today, tomorrow and for years to come. This recognition from Edmunds.com further solidifies the Altima's place among the best and most valuable vehicles on the road."

The 2014 Nissan Altima, the centerpiece of the Nissan lineup and one of the top selling cars in the U.S., offers a premium exterior and interior and driver-focused technology. Its many attributes include outstanding fuel economy of 38 mpg highway (2.5-liter engine) and an outstanding balance of ride comfort, stability and a fun-to-drive demeanor. Altima is offered in seven well-equipped models to meet a range of needs and budgets – and with a choice of a 182-horsepower 2.5-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine or 270-horsepower 3.5-liter V6. Both engines are matched with a smooth, efficient Xtronic transmission.
