HANOVER, Germany – Nissan and FedEx electrified the 64th IAA Commercial Vehicle International Motor Show in Hanover earlier this week with the unveiling of the all-new 100% battery-powered version of the e-NV200 Concept van.

At the event, the Global Media Center spoke with Hideto Murakami, Nissan corporate vice president who oversees the automaker's light-commercial vehicle business.

"Both companies are committed to reducing C02 emissions. Nissan is in the final stage of developing the zero-emission concept van," said Murakami.  "It's valuable for both companies to work together to secure mutual understanding in order to implement proper specifications, which would support operations and objectives."

Nissan is in the final development phase of the road-going version of the van, which will be its second mass-produced zero emission vehicle  after the LEAF.

Nissan has been working with FedEx Express since December 2011 to test the e-NV200 in real world operations to help shape development of the 100% electric compact delivery vehicle, with production slated to begin in Barcelona at the end of 2013.
