Nissan Innovation on Stage at L.A. Auto Show

LOS ANGELES - It is an all-star line-up of innovation for Nissan at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show where the all-new 2013 Altima, Pathfinder and Sentra are sharing a stage for the first time at a major auto show.

Visitors to the Los Angeles Convention Center, the site of the 2012 show, also will see the 2014 Nissan GT-R supercar, the Nissan Hi-Cross Concept and the radical Nissan DeltaWing.

DeltaWing has shaken up the status quo in endurance sports car competition with its body design and technology that emphasizes light weight and high fuel efficiency.

“The car is back in its hometown. It was actually created in Santa Ana just south of Los Angeles, so it is a really significant time for the car to be on show.  Basically a year ago it was just drawings and now here it is after having completed Petit Le Mans,” said Nissan DeltaWing Concept Originator, Ben Bowlby.

Also at the show, Nissan's Easy-Fill Tire Alert system, now standard on all new Nissan models, was announced as a finalist for the technology of the year award given by AOL Autos. Since January, AOL Autos has been working to find the best-of-the-best in auto technology. With more than 30 nominees in the areas of Connectivity, Active Safety and Telematics, the field is now narrowed to six finalists. The public is invited to take a seat at the judges' table and vote for their favorite new technology.

The Los Angeles Auto Show is open through Dec. 9 at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Olympic Blvd.
