Nissan names Michael Colleran regional vice president, Northeast Region

Ted Lancaster

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – As Nissan continues toward its goal of 10 percent market share in the U.S., the company has named Michael Colleran regional vice president, Nissan Northeast Region, effective Jan. 1. Colleran will take over from Gary Frigo, Nissan's current regional vice president, Northeast Region, who has elected to retire at year's end.

Colleran, currently regional vice president, Nissan Canada, will be responsible for regional sales and marketing, incentive spending, distribution, dealer network development, financial controls and dealer and customer satisfaction across the northeast region.

“Michael’s experience in Canada will be valuable as we work to consolidate operating profit, maximize return on investment spending and grow market share here in the U.S.,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing and Operations, Nissan North America, Inc. “We welcome Michael to his new role. We also thank Gary for his many years of dedicated service with the company and wish him and his family well.”

Prior to joining Nissan in 2011, Colleran was president and COO of SAAB Cars North America and previously held several leadership roles with increasing responsibilities at General Motors.

Ted Lancaster, currently regional general manager, Nissan Canada East Region, is promoted to regional vice president, Nissan Canada, backfilling Colleran. Prior to joining Nissan in 2013, Lancaster was director, National Development for the Dilawri Group and has more than 20 years of experience including sales and marketing leadership roles with both Mercedes Benz and Mitsubishi.
