Nissan production, sales and export results for April 2015

YOKOHAMA, Japan – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its production, sales and export figures for April 2015.

1. Production
Nissan's global production in April decreased 1.2% year-on-year to 412,944 units.

Production in Japan increased 3.0% year-on-year to 63,311 units, mainly due to increased demand for the X-Trail for markets outside Japan.

Production outside Japan decreased 2.0% year-on-year to 349,633 units.

In the U.S., production declined 4.6% year-on-year to 74,312 units, mainly due to decreased demand in advance of a new model introduction.

In Mexico, production increased 7.3% year-on-year to 65,361 units, marking a record high for the month of April, mainly due to an increase in production volume of the Sentra (Sylphy in Japan) and the new NP300 Frontier.

In the U.K., production decreased 17.9% year-on-year to 36,270 units.

In Spain, production decreased 25.6% year-on-year to 8,921 units.

In China, production decreased 14.2% year-on-year to 98,482 units.

Production in other regions was up 41.2% year-on-year to 66,287 units, mainly due to increased demand for the Rogue (X-Trail in Japan), which is produced in Korea for the North America market.

2. Sales
Global sales in April decreased 3.6% year-on-year to 395,317 units.

Sales in Japan, including mini-vehicles, declined 18.0% year-on-year to 32,964 units.

Vehicle registrations in Japan were down 8.7% year-on-year to 21,546 units.

Mini-vehicle sales in Japan decreased 31.2% year-on-year to 11,418 units.

Sales outside Japan were down 2.1% year-on-year to 362,353 units.

In the U.S., sales increased 5.7% year-on-year to 109,848 units, marking an all-time sales record for the month of April, mainly due to an increase in sales volume of the Rogue and the new Murano.

In Mexico, sales increased 26.0% year-on-year to 24,693 units, marking an all-time sales record for the month of April, mainly due to higher sales volume of the X-Trail and the new NP300 Frontier. Nissan has been the sales leader in Mexico for 71 consecutive months.

In Europe, sales increased 8.0% year-on-year to 55,639 units, marking an all-time sales record for the month of April, mainly due to increased demand for the X-Trail and the new Pulsar.

In China, sales were up 1.3% year-on-year to 95,529 units, mainly due to sales of the X-Trail and Sylphy series.

Sales in other regions decreased 1.0% year-on-year to 65,158 units.

3. Japan Exports
Nissan's exports in April increased 33.6% year-on-year to 45,488 units, mainly due to increased demand for the X-Trail.
