Nissan Rogue and Rogue Sport named 2019 Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buy Award winners

2019 Nissan Rogue Sport

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Consumer Guide® today announced the winners of its 2019 Automotive Best Buy Awards – with the Nissan Rogue topping the Compact Crossover/SUV Class for the fifth consecutive year and the Nissan Rogue Sport heading the Subcompact Crossover/SUV for the second straight year.

In compiling the Best Buy winners, the editors of Consumer Guide evaluate more than 150 new vehicles each year. Winning vehicles have to distinguish themselves as being "a good dollar value" compared to others in the class. The 2019 Rogue has a starting MSRP1 of $24,800 for the Rogue S FWD model, while the 2019 Rogue Sport has a starting price1 of $22,240 for the Rogue Sport S FWD.

Rogue, Nissan's top-selling model, offers expanded standard technology for the 2019 model year. The 2019 Rogue is one of the first Nissan models to offer Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of six advanced active safety and driver-assist technologies. It is offered as standard equipment on SV and SL grades of the 2019 Rogue.

In addition, following extensive enhancements for 2018, the 2019 Rogue again offers a range of significant updates, including a new Special Edition Package (S grade), new Premium Package (SV grade) and expanded technology and availability, including standard Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection and High Beam Assist (HBA). In addition, Nissan's innovative Rear Door Alert system has been added to all grade levels.

Every 2019 Rogue features NissanConnect® featuring Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, with a 7.0-inch color touch-screen display. All Rogue models are equipped with a responsive 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 170 horsepower and matched with an Xtronic CVT. Rogue is offered with a choice of an Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system or front-wheel drive.

Rogue is also available with ProPILOT Assist, a single-lane "hands-on" driving assistance technology that eases driver workload by reducing the amount of driver acceleration, steering and braking input under certain driving conditions, such as single-lane highway driving.

The popular Nissan Rogue Sport adds a number of significant enhancements for the 2019 model year – led by the addition of available ProPILOT Assist, Nissan Safety Shield 360 technology, an updated audio system with standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and available Bose® Audio System with nine speakers.

Rear Door Alert is now standard on all grade levels and one new exterior color, Scarlet Ember Tintcoat, is also added. Contents of the SV Technology Package and SL Premium Package have also been revised.

As fitting of the Rogue Sport name, its fun-to-drive performance credentials are achieved by a combination of a 141-horsepower 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve inline 4-cylinder engine, Xtronic CVT with Eco Mode switch and a 4-wheel independent suspension.

The 2019 Rogue Sport is offered in front-wheel and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive configurations, and in three well-equipped grade levels – S, SV and SL.
Available Rogue Sport technology includes NissanConnect® with Navigation, NissanConnect Services powered by SiriusXM® (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately), 7.0-inch color touch-screen display, SiriusXM® Travel Link and SiriusXM® Traffic (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately).

Other features include standard RearView Monitor, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant, Streaming audio via Bluetooth® and available Remote Engine Start2, Intelligent Around View® Monitor (I-AVM), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI).
