V8 Supercar on Melbourne Track

MELBOURNE – Nissan has wasted no time in getting its new V8 Supercar on the track with testing getting underway in Melbourne.

While the V8 Supercars Series races in Abu Dhabi, the Kelly Racing-run Altima was turning laps at Calder in Melbourne as part of the first phase of aerodynamic testing.

Just three days after its official unveiling the 2013 Nissan Altima V8 Supercar was rolled-out at Calder Park Raceway for the first part of aerodynamic testing.

Despite being sidelined after a recent shoulder reconstruction – team owner and driver Todd Kelly was given the first honors of taking the wheel of the car.

The test at Calder was a major milestone in the Nissan V8 Supercar project, but there is still plenty of work ahead of the race debut in Adelaide on the first weekend in March.

With the Kelly Racing operation running four cars at this weekend’s V8 Supercars round in Abu Dhabi, interest in the first Nissan Altima track test has garnered plenty of interest in Australia as well as the Middle East.

Further testing of the Nissan will be carried out by the team and V8 Supercars in the coming months.
