Nissan today announced that effective March 31, 2013, Sales and Marketing Senior Vice President Brian Carolin will retire after 28 years with the company. José Muñoz, currently senior vice president of sales and marketing – Latin America and Americas customer quality and dealer network development, will assume responsibilities for sales and marketing in the U.S. and Canada beginning April 1, 2013.
Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today reported record November U.S. sales of 96,197 units versus 85,182 units a year earlier, up 12.9 percent. Nissan Division set a new November record, with sales up 9.8 percent for the month over the prior year at 84,300 units. Sales of Infiniti vehicles were 11,897, up 41.2 percent over the prior year, also a November record.
Jose Roman is managing director of Nissan Latin America and the Caribbean (NLAC). Roman joined Nissan Mexico in June 2012 as regional sales vice president of Nissan Mexico where he built comprehensive relationships with distributors to increase Nissan's presence in Mexico. Previously, he held several positions at General Motors where he worked in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.
François Dossa is president of Nissan Brazil. Dossa joined Nissan in 2012. Previously, he was CEO, Societe Generale where he was responsible for the Brazilian and Latin American markets. Earlier in his career he was director of Export Finance at Paribas in Paris, France, as well as the commercial manager of CGEE-Alstom do Brazil in Sao Paulo.
Nissan's "Easy-Fill Tire Alert" system has been named one of six finalists by AOL Autos for its 2012 Technology of the Year Award. The winner will be announced Jan. 9, 2013 at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nev.
