Nissan today continued its march up the rankings in the 2013 J.D. Power and Associates Customer Service Index (CSI) Study℠. In the 2013 study, Nissan improved 23 points and earned an index score of 797 out of a possible 1,000 points, finishing sixth among 19 nameplates in the mass market brands segment.
G-Drive Racing's entry into the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) has been revealed as the Official Nissan Partner entry for 2013. Operated by Delta-ADR, the team will run two Russian G-Drive branded Oreca LMP2 cars, powered by Nissan NISMO, in the full WEC season, and at the world-famous Le Mans 24 Hours in June.
Nissan reported all-time record sales for February in Mexico with 20,411 units sold and 25.5 percent market share of the Mexican automotive industry. Nissan has a lead of 6.8 points over its closest competitor (+5.375 units) and a lead of 10.9 percentage points (8,694 units) over the third-ranked brand.
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced its plan to expand the use of Advanced High Tensile Strength Steel (AHSS) in to up to 25 percent of the vehicle parts (measured by weight) installed in its new production models. Nissan will make use of advanced high tensile strength steel starting in 2017 as one of its initiatives to help reduce vehicle weight.
Nissan today announced it recorded market share growth in Europe in February 2013, increasing by 0.3 percentage points to 4.2%. This was spearheaded by strong fiscal year-to-date market share in 21 of Nissan's major European markets, contributing to the 49,114 units sold during the month.
