Today the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) upgraded the 2016 Nissan Sentra to its highest rating of "Top Safety Pick Plus" when equipped with optional Forward Emergency Braking technology. The Sentra had previously held the agency's Top Safety Pick designation prior to IIHS confirmation of the required front crash prevention technology performance.
Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today announced that sales for fiscal year 2015 set an all-time record of 2,009,119, passing the two-million sales mark for the first time in company history. Each of NNA's three sales regions – the United States, Canada and Mexico – also set individual volume records for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016.

Nissan's Alex Buncombe was part of the driver line-up that triumphed in last year's Blancpain Endurance Series, but this week the Englishman is eagerly awaiting the return of the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 to the Blancpain Sprint Series at Misano in Italy. Rick Kelly was the shining star for Nissan Motorsports in Australian V8 Supercar competition on the weekend, scoring a top four finish on Saturday before brake issues struck on Sunday at Symmons Plains Raceway in Tasmania. Kelly was on track for a repeat strong performance during the 200km Sunday event. After qualifying 12th, an early pit stop leapt the #15 Sengled Racing Altima into the top four, a position which he maintained for most of the race until the brake issue (broken rotor) forced his retirement.
