Local Sourcing of Materials for the Nissan LEAF Brings Costs Down
DECHERD, Tenn. (Dec. 10, 2013) - Nissan is finding more and more ways to localize its LEAF production in the U.S. When the vehicle first became available in December 2010, the car was manufactured in Japan. In January 2013, Nissan ramped up production of the car in Smyrna, Tenn. This was followed by production of the electric motor in Decherd, Tenn., in April.
