The Special Edition X-TRAIL is unique to Canada and was named after the Newfoundland town, which is one of the most scenic and unique places in Canada.
“We were very proud to celebrate Canadiana by naming one of our vehicles after this historic town,” said Ian Forsyth, Director, Product and Corporate Planning, Nissan Canada Inc. “And now, we are pleased to give the last remaining special edition X-TRAIL to the Town of Bonavista, so they can have a part of Nissan Canada’s history, which they helped inspire.”
The 2006 X-TRAIL Bonavista features several refinements including 17” alloy wheels, automatic climate control, simulated carbon fibre trim accents, stainless steel door sill plates, “Bonavista Edition” rear liftgate decal, “Bonavista Edition” numbered interior plaque and a new platinum colour unique to the Bonavista X-TRAIL.
“We are thrilled and excited about Nissan’s generous donation to our town,” said Mayor Betty Fitzgerald, Town of Bonavista. “We were ecstatic to learn Nissan chose Bonavista as the name for their SUV. It’s a perfect fit and we love it.”
The town is selling raffle tickets for the Bonavista X-TRAIL with 50 per cent of the profit going to Canada Day chairperson Mayor Betty Fitzgerald for her Canada Day Committee activities.
The 2006 X-TRAIL is part of an SUV roster that includes the authentic Xterra, the rugged Pathfinder, the sophisticated Murano and the full-size Armada.
