MISSISSAUGA, ONT. – In celebration of Canada's 145th anniversary and the market launch of the new Altima sedan, Nissan Canada will host a spectacular water show for the general public in Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver on Sunday, July 1, 2012. As a premier sponsor for Canada Day fireworks in the four cities, Nissan, the first company to use 3D Water Screen Projection technology in Canada, will put the Nissan Altima front-and-center of the festivities. The new Nissan Altima offers best-in-class highway fuel economy of 5.0L/100km*, making it the most fuel efficient vehicle in the Nissan lineup besides the Nissan LEAF; signalling that Nissan is about to embark on its most innovative model year ever. Packed with an abundance of advanced "safety shield" features including: blind spot warning, lane departure warning, and moving object detection, the Altima will be presented on a stage just as exciting and innovative as the car.

3D Water Screen Projection technology uses a submerged nozzle that sprays a thin fan of water about 120' wide by 60' tall. The screen works by diffusing light, and works by rear projecting towards the audience.

"At Nissan, our mandate is to provide Canadians with innovative and exciting vehicles a cut-above the rest in every segment," says Judy Wheeler, Director of Marketing for Nissan Canada. "The new Nissan Altima delivers on this promise in a big way with its best-in-class fuel economy, dynamic performance and striking design. The 3D Water Show effectively delivers on that same high level of excitement and innovation making it the perfect platform for the Nissan Altima."
