Nissan Canada Inc. (NCI) today reported 2011 sales results of 84,667 units, concluding the best-ever sales year in Nissan Canada's history. This was also a record calendar year for the Nissan brand, with 77,731 units sold, up 3.9 per cent over 2010. Infiniti reported annual sales of 6,936 units.

Record months were achieved for several popular models including the Nissan JUKE, Armada, Titan and Rogue leading to records for both NCI and the Nissan brand in December with 6,657 and 6,149 units sold, respectively. Infiniti achieved sales of 508 units in the same period. Sales of the Infiniti EX and FX were strong in December with an increase of 35.1 and 37 per cent, respectively over 2010 figures.

"In 2011, new products and a diversified lineup contributed to the achievement of our best ever sales year," said Allen Childs, President of Nissan Canada Inc. "Now, and throughout 2012, we will continue to strengthen our presence in Canada including the addition of the all-new Infiniti JX luxury crossover to the Infiniti line-up, and several exciting new models including the all-new Nissan Pathfinder which we'll show for the first time in Detroit next week."

Nissan Canada Inc.'s banner sales year is highlighted by best-ever months for February, June, November and December, with June marking Nissan's strongest sales month in history.

NCI Sales Highlights

  • Nissan Canada Inc. posted record December sales of 6,657 units sold, up 32.9 per cent over 2010
  • Nissan brand reports best December on record with 6,149 units sold, up 38.6 per cent
  • Best December for the following Nissan vehicles:
    - JUKE with 435 units, up 31.4 per cent
    - Armada with 57 units, up 7.5 per cent
    - Titan with 323 units, up 56 per cent
    - Rogue with 1,370 units, up 52.4 per cent
  • Sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF sales totaled 59 units in December, its strongest month since sales began in late July
  • Sales of Infiniti decreased 11.5 per cent from the prior year to 508 units
  • December sales of the Infiniti EX grew to 77 units, up 35.1 per cent over the same month last year
  • Sales of the Infiniti FX grew to 100 units, up 37 per cent
