2010 Nissan Sentra SE-R Press Kit: At a Glance

Nissan’s performance credentials have been well established over the more than 50 years of doing business in North America – through professional and grassroots motorsports and a dream garage of high-performance sports cars anchored by the Nissan GT-R and the new Nissan 370Z Coupe, NISMO 370Z and 370Z Roadster. Not to be overlooked is Nissan’s tradition of powerful performance sedans such as the Datsun 510, the “4-Door Sports Car™” Maxima and the high-value, high-performance Sentra SE-R.

For the 2010 model year, the Sentra SE-R and Sentra SE-R Spec V continue their successful formula of “serious performance at an affordable price,” offering real factory performance features such as a high-output 2.5-liter engine, tuned suspension, available paddle shifters (SE-R), available Helical Limited-Slip Differential (SE-R Spec V) and standard 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

SE-R and SE-R Spec V enhancements for 2010 include new sport cloth seat trim and stitching, revised instrument panel accents (now silver color) and illumination, new headlight and taillight designs, a revised wheel color, standard Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Traction Control System (TCS), a new 4.3-inch color audio system display with USB interface, standard Interface System for iPod® and a new available Nissan Navigation System with Secure Digital (SD) Card-based navigation, 5-inch color touch screen display and XM NavTraffic® capability (XM® subscription required, sold separately). Two new exterior colors are available: Anodized Orange and Aspen White.

New or revised option packages include the SE-R Upgrade Package, with power moonroof, Nissan Intelligent Key™, XM® Satellite Radio, RearView Monitor and 8-speaker 340-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system; and the Spec V Upgrade Package, which adds a Helical Limited-Slip Differential to the contents of the SE-R Upgrade Package (intelligent key deleted).

Once again in 2010, the SE-R Spec V offers one of the best power-to-price ratios in class of 200 horsepower for around $20,000. Both the SE-R and SE-R Spec V are powered by Nissan’s advanced 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine (QR25DE). The SE-R is rated at 177 horsepower and the Sentra SE-R Spec V at 200 horsepower. The SE-R and SE-R Spec V are built on Nissan’s global C-platform and offer a long list of standard safety features, including six air bags.

Both models are again equipped with a range of unique (versus non-SE-R Sentra models) performance-oriented equipment and features, including 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS) and specially tuned suspension (SE-R Spec V), as well as unique exterior and interior appearance modifications.
