Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today reported sales for June of 58,298 units versus 75,847 units a year ago, a decrease of 23.1 percent. Sales of Nissan Division vehicles decreased 21.9 percent, while sales of Infiniti vehicles decreased by 32.3 percent. more
06.23.2009 , Franklin, Tenn.NISSAN’S PLAN FOR ZERO-EMISSIONS VEHICLES ADVANCES WITH U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY LOANFRANKLIN, Tenn. (June 23, 2009) – Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today said it has been conditionally approved by the U.S. Department of Energy for a $1.6 billion loan to modify its Smyrna, Tenn., manufacturing plant to produce zero-emissions vehicles and state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery packs to power them.
The loan, announced by the U.S. Department of Energy, is among the first three loans under the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program (ATVMLP), a $25-billion program authorized by Congress under Section 136 of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. The loan will help Nissan produce electric vehicles, which emit no gases and are powered only by electricity. 06.22.2009 , Franklin, Tenn.Nissan GT-R and 370Z Capture Edmunds' Inside Line "2009 Readers’ Most WantedSM Awards"Two all-new Nissan sports cars, the Nissan GT-R and Nissan 370Z, have been named to “Edmunds’ Inside Line 2009 Readers’ Most WantedSM Awards” list. The GT-R and 370Z were the only double winners, taking two categories each in the poll of readers’ favorites in 15 vehicle categories designated by vehicle type and price range. The GT-R was previously named an “Instant Classic” in the “Edmunds’ Inside Line Editors’ Most WantedSM Awards” in November 2008 (the 2009 Nissan 370Z was not available at that time). Edmunds’ Inside Line is an online magazine for automotive enthusiasts produced and hosted by Edmunds.com. Results of the poll were announced earlier this week. more |
