2016 Maxima SR Midnight debuts as featured vehicle during Nissan’s sponsorship of the BET Experience

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Though the all-new 2016 Nissan Maxima only went on sale earlier this month, a new Maxima SR Midnight is already raising the bar for sporty style and sophistication. The new vehicle, which adds a selection of factory and dealer-installed accessories to a black-on-black Maxima SR, debuts this week during the BET Experience in Los Angeles. Nissan is once again the official automotive sponsor of the four-day event, which takes place at LA Live and includes concerts, fashion shows and other events.

The 2016 Nissan Maxima SR Midnight includes: 

  • Super Black exterior paint
  • Charcoal premium leather-appointed interior with Alcantara® seat inserts
  • Rear sport spoiler
  • Rocker panel moldings
  • Rear bumper diffuser
  • Splash guards
  • 19-inch black aluminum-alloy wheels

Backing up Maxima’s longstanding reputation as the “4-Door Sports Car,” a 2016 Nissan Maxima SR recently posted the lowest average lap time in independent third-party testing at Buttonwillow Raceway against the 2015 Acura TLX 3.5 (FWD) with Technology Package, 2015 Audi A4 2.0T quattro® Premium Plus Tiptronic and 2015 BMW 328i sedan*. All 2016 Maximas feature a revised 300-horsepower 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 engine and new performance-oriented Xtronic transmission. The comprehensive re-engineering effort also results in a 15 percent increase (over the previous generation Maxima) in highway fuel economy to 30 miles per gallon**.

The new 2016 Maxima also embodies the latest Nissan design language and projects a distinctive upscale look through its unique combination of a lower profile and a wide stance, bold front end, Nissan signature V-Motion grille and floating roof appearance. The new Maxima also features a premium-crafted interior featuring standard NissanConnectSM with navigation and available 11-speaker Bose® premium audio system, NissanConnectSM Services powered by SiriusXM® (SiriusXM subscription required, sold separately) and Around View® Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD).

The 2016 Maxima also offers an extensive range of available safety, security and driving aids, including Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Driver Attention Alert (DAA) system***.

 The 2016 Maxima is available in five well-equipped models (all equipment is grade standard, no available options). The Maxima SR, which serves as the foundation for the Midnight treatment, includes a sport-tuned suspension, Integrated Dynamics-control Module (IDM), a front chassis performance damper, premium Ascot leather-appointed seats with diamond-quilted Alcantara® inserts, Climate-controlled front seats, Ascot leather-appointed steering wheel with Alcantara® insert, paddle shifters, aluminum sport pedals, Liquid Chrome faceted finishers, LED low beam headlights, 19-inch diamond-cut machined aluminum-alloy wheels and 245/40R19 all-season tires developed uniquely for Maxima.
